    I am a huge fan of the Assassin's Quest trilogy by Robin Hobb, so I thought I would create a game based on Fitz from those books. (I feel inspired coz Aldoth has created a cleric/thief).

    Fitz was an assassin, had some basic fighting skills and had his special kind of magic. I thought a multi-class Mage/Thief would suit him best and make him NE alignment. I would make him a half-elf which would fit as he was a bit of an outcast as well.

    As to his companions?
    Minsc (his mentor/guardian) or Kagain
    Imoen (his friend)
    Garrick (the fool?)

    Any ideas anyone?

    NE?! Are you mad? CG I would say, or neutral. Or maybe even LN.

    I would also make him human. He was human, nothing remotely elvish about him. Humans can be outcasts too.

    Yes, but unless he uses shadow keeper, there's no way to multi-class a human.

    There was never anything really said about his mother, so she could have been half-elvish (sort of, in a stretching it kind of way - plus he only needs 1% elvish to be classed half-elf and there was nothing to say he wasn't descended somewhere from the elves). And it is the only way to be multi-class. The only other way would be to become a dual-class and this doesn't fit the character as he used all his skills at the same time.

    Alternatively, do I just go for a vanilla thief/assasin and forget the mage skills altogether?

    As to alignment, I'm not sure on this one.

    Basically, he was a Assassin. He murdered people, from loyalty/orders and a couple of times for vengeance. He went after Regal, because he wanted to.

    His actions I would say, make him fairly neutral and the Assassin role makes him evil. I think it is one of the following LN TN LE NE.

    As to his companions .....

    Molly -> Imoen
    Burrich -> Minsc or Khalid
    The Fool -> Garrick
    Starling -> ???
    Verity -> ???
    Kettricken -> Jaheira or Viconia
    Chade -> Edwin or Xzar

    I am starting to think that this party would be best left to IWD1 or 2.

    Now in NWN, I could be a thief/druid and have a wolf companion. That might be cool, but slightly off subject.
