Fire or acid weapons against trolls

    [​IMG] Do fire weapons (flame blade), acid, or poison weapons do special damage against trolls or do they do their standard damage? Trolls do die if they are hit by fire or acid attacks when they are on the floor, so do these weapons do extra damage??

    [​IMG] No actual special bonus from those weapons.

    In fact, trolls will be hit by any acid and fire weapon - since there is no resistance.
    The effect is same on them and on pheasants or some other non resistant creatures.

    Killing trolls has nothing to do with inflicting damage on them.

    As Extremist said, trolls are not especially vulnerable to acid / fire, it's just that they're the only thing (well, according to the manual, which is, as usual, wrong) that will kill them.

    Although it says you have to use fire or acid, there's other stuff (like MMMs, as Laksol mentioned). The bleeding damage on Valygar's katana will take them out, too.

    Are any vulnerabilities implemented in BG2? For example, will, say, a winter wolf take extra damage from a fireball? I'm not totally sure, but I think I've seen lightning do extra damage to some type of creature before...

    As a side note, Valygar's katana can also kill Efreetis in mist form. Very useful earlier in the game.
