    One of the items in the ease of use mod is to allow multi-class fighters to get more than two proficiencies in a given weapon class. I believe it does the same for paladins, rangers, and barbarians as well. One thing I've noticed is that it also allows you to place more than the normally two allowed proficiency points (even if you were a single classed fighter) into two-handed weapon style and single handed weapon style. What do these additional proficiency points do, if anything? Obviously, since they weren't part of the original game, nothing is mentioned in the description beyond two points.

    From the readme for ease of use:

    Multi-Class Grand Mastery
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    This is for players who believe that AD&D's dual-class and multi-class
    system is inherently broken and that there is no conceptual reason for
    multi-class characters to be denied grand-mastery. Multi-Class characters
    can now put more than 2 pips in things. In effect, any character that could
    ** in anything can now put ***** in that thing. Do not put more then ** in
    single-weapon, two-handed weapon or sword-and-shield style and do not put
    moree than *** in dual-wielding.
    That was my gut feeling, but I wanted to make sure. I actually do not put more than two stars in any proficiency for non-fighters, as it unbalances the class - that's what make fighters unique. The reason I did get the mod is that fighters get the true grand mastery bonuses of extra to hit and damage and an extra one-half attack per round.
    A few hours ago I learned that rangers cant put more than two points in a weapon proficiency, even with the Ease of Use. At least Minsc would not have a third * in twohanded sword.
    Funny thing is that Keldorn can put three points there, and more I guess.
    With SK, you can give yourself up to 7 proficiency points in a weapon class, as well as up to 7 in a style, and both give you the same bonuses: zip. Putting more than the normal max is basically the same as having no points at all.
    Well then it's certainly a good thing I didn't over-place in the fighting style slots. Right now, no one has more than two points in single-handed, two-handed, or two weapon style.
