    Two answers:
    1) Does anyone in your party have any skills at Wilderness Lore? If so, use it to find the way.
    2) If not, throw arrows on the ground to help you distinguish between seemingly the same clearings. If you come back to one with an arrow on it, then you know you have gone in a circle and can try a different exit.

Spam with Wilderness Lore even if you have no skill in it!!! :) I did this once because I forgot to put skill in it. If you can bear doing it about 4000 times...

Wilderness lore helps, as others suggested, a high WIS character can use the skill even without skill points allocated! If you can not, well, get a walkthrough, that forest is a real pain in the nether regions of one's anatomy. I had to use a walkthrough for the first time, as I was really pissed off!

The easiest way to get through the forest is using a walkthrough.

The horn quest is optional, but you'll have to find other things there too.
If you want to manage it on your own use pen and paper.
Write down each area and which exit leads to which area.
To distinguish the areas you've to make exact descriptions, maybe the "L" or "X" key will yield different area codes for different areas (didn't test it), you can also try to number the area with bullets. Leave 1 bullet in area1, 2 in area2, ...
But keep in mind that items on the ground disappear after some time, so start this fully rested with enough bullets.

Wilderness lore saves you from having to try out some exits.
Have the character with the highest wilderness lore (a character with 22 wis has +6 in it even without a single skill point) try again and again until he succeeds.

The skeletons yield nice XP, (you can easily cheat your levels up to 30 with level squatting there if you want to spoil your game) but if you don't want to fight them you can just run past them.
They always attack your cleric, so protect him.

Wilderness Lore is absolutely the way to go. If you don't happen to have a druid or ranger in your party, it's not a terrible idea to have a cleric take a point of WL, to combine with his/her already high WIS.

I've never used a walkthru to get thru the Fell Woods, since I always have a ranger or a druid in my party.

I usually put some text on the map over the place (the map meny). I give names like "skeletons 3" for 3:rd skeleton area. When I enter a new area the map just don't have anything written on it.

I did the same basic thing as Mudde, but made sure I mapped the entire area by quicksaving, going through one way, loading and labeling the pathway. I'd do that for every exit point on the map. I went through the entire forest that way. It can be tedious, however.
