I recently made an add-on that has about 20 new npc's in it. They range from thugs to knights, theives to Flaming Fist, but no mages. I was wondering, does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of npc's I should make?

None of these guys are meant to be really interesting or anything. I just wondered what it would be like to have a Flaming Fist, or Bandit, or even a common peasant in the party, so I made some.

Do a Chaotic Good Gnome Illusionist with these stats

    STR 9
    DEX 14
    CON 12
    INT 19
    WIS 15
    CHA 11

    That's a good role-playing NPC.

If you do special abilities, have his be Blur.

Make him be old, but spry. Make him like Quayle, but less annoying and less ecentric.

Have him meet the PC in the FIA on the 2nd level.

His background story could be he is from Athkatla, but the laws against mages made his study difficult, so he packed up and moved north and he made his way to the FIA, but can't go any farther because it's too dangerous to walk the roads alone. He could say that his skills could be useful if you'll get him to Baldur's Gate.
Once in Baldur's Gate, he can say that he's become attached to you and he'll stay with you, if you want.

You should include an evil fighter with enough charisma to lead the party. Good parties can always use Ajantis, but evil parties have to use either Kagain or Shar-Teel with ring of human influence (not sure if this is the correct name)that gives 18 charisma.

    Give him these stats:

    Strenght 17
    Dexterity 15
    Constitution 16
    Intelligence 12
    Wisdom 10
    Charisma 17

Maybe you can make him another Zhentarim and give him some dialogue with Xzar.

Especially since you have to be playing BG2 to get an item that sets your Charisma to 18.... ;)

You're right! I had thought that there also was a charisma increasing item in BG1, but of course there's none!

Guess the designers realised there mistake and put one in BG2, which could be found very early in the game.

Actually, there's a couple of cloaks that add to your charisma, as well as a helmet -- just no ring that will set it to 18. ;)
