Due to an annoying screw up by me, I need to re-install IWD2. I've uninstalled it, but when I try to re-install it, after the bar gets to around 5%, it asks for CD2, then after a second with CD2 in, it asks for a non-existant CD0!!! Wtf is going on here? Any help will be very much appreciated! PLEASE HURRY !

Sounds like something was left in your HD that was supposed to disappear with the Uninstall but didn't. Now it's screwing everything up.

I know you're not going to want to hear this, but ... The only thing I can think of is to back up what's important, and then reformat your HD to clean the slate.

If it comes to that, know that you're not alone. I am speaking from personal experience on a couple of disasters from years past.

I'd first suggest that when you put in CD2, you wait a bit for the drive to read and mount the CD before you click on "OK" to continue.

I had the same problem with BG2. It kept asking me for a 5th disk. Try wiping your drive, downloading the latest patch, and THEN try and install it. Good luck.

Well, I've tried all your suggestions (except for wiping the drive) and they have, unfortunately, failed.

Further investigation into the problem has led me to believe that my disc has been damaged. I won't go into the complex details, but there are a fair few scratches on my disc though. I now have a vauge plan to fix the problem, but I doubt it will work... Anyway, I will have acess to a far better computer in a few weeks on which the game is already installed, so its only a temporary problem...

Anyway, thanks for the help, and I'll report if I finally fix this..

EDIT: Well, it was no good. I found the file that was damaged, I'd ask someone to send me it (then I think I could fix it...) but the bloody thing's a sort of zip file that's over 300mb...

I might try that CD cleaner if I a) have the time and b) have the cash...

Get a Disk Doctor(tm) it does a good job. I buy a lot of second hand disks and this really works.
