[IMG] I am sure that this has been covered ad nauseum, so appreciate any helpful responses on this redundant subject.

The scenario: My party is trapped in the Mind Flayer Dungeon. I have wiped out the entire complex save for the Big Brain room. I have a couple of the control collars to use on the illithids. I also have the anti-psionics potions as well.

The problem: I can't seem to get either the exit or the Big Brain door to open with a captured Mind Flayer. Is there some trick to this that I am missing? I didn't have any problems using one to get those other doors open to explore the complex.

Now I have attempted to attack the Big Brain by using the Avatar form, and it seem that the character immediately starts taking damage once he transforms. Also, he has been getting killed way before the party can lay the smack down on the Big Brain. I thought he was immune to Psionics in the Avatar form, but I am assuming that the Ego Whip is what is doing him in.

Anyway, I am find this excessively frustrating since I know what I need to do, I just can't seem to get it to work! Thanks for any help y'all!

You must make sure it's a Mind Flayer and not an Ulitharid that you control to open to door to the brain. IIRC there are only Ulitharids in the room where the door to the brain is. I had to go back to the place where a Mind Flayer respawns and drag it all the way back to the brain door to open it.

I will check that out when I play again tonight, though I did go back to the respawn room to get a new recruit I believe...
