Entertaining ads

    Remove all ads!
    I noticed that the ads I get on the bottom of the pages here at SP are quite funny some times. Here are some examples:

    "Do you want to move to Israel?" seen in the AoLS pages some time ago. Since the topic in the thread was the war in Lebanon, the obvious answer would have been "Umm, no ?!" ;)

    some ads hawking diamonds and other jewelry. These come up pretty often, and I was puzzled at first, but then I figured out it might have to do with the gems appearing under each poster's name :)

    "These Love Spells Work (links to honest spell workers that get fast results)" and "Black Magic Love Spells" :eek: seen in the Neverwinter Nights forums; I guess it relates to many apparitions of the words wizard/sorcerer/spell in the posts :D

    Just recently, there was a dicussion going on in the AoDA about there's no way to prove there is a God or not. The ad sayd: God exists, and you?
    Either AdSense or God has a nice sense of humor. :p

    Whenever Takara posts, there is an ad for Takara diamonds (whatever they are).

    Also, in the thread on most horrific sports injuries, there were all these ads for sports massage and physiotherapy.

    When there's is a post by Felinoid, one of the ads is for EverQuest II and has a felinoid shown. :nuts:

    Why they open in the same page and doesn't open another? Whatever other link opens a new window, but those adds by google open in the same window.

    That's one of pretty much every AdSense publisher's major complaints about their ads. For reasons known only to them, they've been refusing to allow the links on their ads to open in new windows for as long as AdSense exists. Every other ad publisher in existence is sensibly opening them in a new window, but not Google.

    When an online company is being so stubborn about denying the users common sense usability, you don't need to guess twice that they've calculated that they get more money by not opening ads in new windows. And that's all there is to it, unfortunately. Despite appearances, Google obviously cares little for ease of use and convenience when their billions in profit come into play.

    Well, I was going to suggest just RIGHT-clicking on the Google ad-link, then selecting 'open in new window', but now I wonder if that'll bypass the advertiser's accounting... :bad:

    As you can see, I have 4 of these links. Is funny to see what people do just to get money.
