I just found this story while reading through this particular paper, and I must admit, I got a lump in my throat, how this can happen in this day and age is beyond me.

Just read it, I’m sure you’ll get as angry as I did.

I first heard it on the radio this morning, I think if I’m not mistaken they both got 7 years apiece, I bet they’ll do about 4.

Makes my f***ing blood boil it does.

I wish I was a judge, or I wish I was in prison, and they put this guy in my cell.

So much as those two are getting what they had coming, government people who do that on an infinitely greater scale escape unpunished. I so wish they would finally manage to indict the people behind healthcare reforms in Poland, let alone the mess with unemployment. Sure you have some "favourite" officials or ex-officials where you live, too.

I saw worse on the local news a year or so ago. A family had starved their four children, and one day their neighbor saw the kids scrounging around the trashcans for food. The kids were so malnourished that they appeared to be 7-8 years old. Their collective weight was 136 pounds, and their actual ages were higher, one of them was actually 19.

The biological children in the second story say the reason is medical. Now look at their picture, what a bunch of fat ****s. No wonder there wasn't any food left.

Some people just shouldn't be parents.

Also, the kids are gaining weight and developing now that they are away from that horrible family. What a load of BS from them.

That first story is horrifying - it just goes to show that although it takes work to be a parent, any ****wit can be a mother or father. So nice to see they kept a spotless lounge room, too. At 24, with all the mod cons and entertainment, with five kids, and couldn't give a damn about any of them... these people deserve nothing but contempt.

Sick... The old "eye for an eye etc" system should be used in such cases, along with the prison time. If you cant understand what you have put someone else through the only way to learn is to experience it yourself.

Misconception alert: eye for an eye had a different meaning and a different role when it was propagated in the Old Testament or in Hammurabi's code of laws. The idea was to limit the punishment to the scale of the crime instead of handing the criminal over to the victim's family, for instance, or sacrificing him to appropriate gods. It was quite a progress, actually.

It's not like I'm a big fan of light sentences, but excessive cruelty reinforces vindictive tendencies in the society. Thus the division between the offender and the society becomes practically impossible to overcome and the rule once criminal always criminal applies. Resocialisation? Yeah, sure. Through hard work. Work no fun? No kidding.
