NWVault has published a hall of fame interview with El Dano, the author of the popular Black Thorn module. Here's a snip:

    1. Could you please introduce yourself including your history of D&D?

I'm a married 35 year-old father of two from Virginia going through an early-midlife roleplaying relapse. I started playing D&D when I got the old 1977 blue box set for Christmas and was pretty hooked through the 80s, moving on to AD&D and Gamma World and buying every mod in sight. I was an avid reader of Dragon Magazine starting around issue 70 and even had several articles published between issues 105 and 142 (4 cents a word added up to a good payday for a high school freshman). Issue 142 was pretty significant for me as in addition to having the last article I wrote, it also contained a big preview of 2nd Edition AD&D. I was heading off for college around that time and didn't like many of the changes to the game, so I left gaming more or less behind until I saw NWN on the shelf one day at a Best Buy. I flew through the OC (and enjoyed it despite the bad rap it gets) and started downloading mods. It brought back a lot of great memories and was a lot of fun.
