Apart from instancing, GamerGod also takes a look at danger zones in the game. Without overwhelming the reader with useless babble, the article moves straight to the point and here's the beginning:

    What are Danger Zones?

Danger zones, like quests, are instances; however unlike quests, they are not exclusive to one group. Each instance, or Danger Zone, is comprised of an area, monsters, and goals. These goals are designed so that a number of somewhere around 20 characters can each participate in the goals while people constantly enter and exit the zone. This is the end of the first stop of the Highway to the Danger Zone. The second, ‘Why Danger Zones?’ is our next exit.

    Why Danger Zones?

There are a number of reasons that Danger Zones contribute to the content of DDO. These range from adding more types of content to making DDO more available to people who just cannot find groups. Apart from the solo quests in the first few levels, practically all of DDO’s quests will require a group. However, Danger Zones will allow people to solo, thus it provides something to do if you want to be alone or if it is forced upon you. Danger Zones will also help with DDO’s community, as it gives people a chance to meet others and maybe adventure along side them (because you share the same goals), while still being independent and not tied to them via an official group. What about content types? As a different way of presenting content, Danger Zones provide opportunities for various types of content, from raids or raid-like content to treasure hunting (where people are looking for a certain resource that they can use), or a number of other open-ended types of content. We've come to the end of the second stop on the Highway to the Danger Zone. The third, ‘Rewards of the Danger Zones?’ is on your next left as you leave.
