Empire Online has posted a short story featuring the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movies. Here's a bit:

Here's a joke to start the day off: what's worse than a really bad film? Three really bad films. Okay, so it's not funny but then neither was 2001's Dungeons & Dragons, nor was it exciting, or even particularly entertaining, but that didn't stop them from giving the green light to Dungeons & Dragons 2: The Elemental Might. Said travesty is purported to hit cinemas sometime next year. But it gets worse: without any consideration for the global implications or the likelihood of agonized cinemagoers eating their own elbows in despair, Dungeons & Dragons 3 has taken off as well!

    [IMG] NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

How can we let this blight on society occur?

Good thing they can't afford the Wayans for this turd. Apparently #2 is in post production.

Did you see the laughable cast and crew?

"FROM THE DIRECTOR OF Hellraiser IV and Children of the Corn III and other stinking turds..."

    Direct to video baby.

Well, I never judge a film before I have seen it, so give it a chance. Though I like the formulation they use, about the fight in Watcher's Keep. That's just marvelous. I wonder if someone would succeed that. It is a nice new challenge for all those people so bored they play things like bg solo with the worst possible char and such. Maybe they'll even pull it off.

    This is a disgrace.
No matter what they do, the first movie sucked, and who will then go to see the next ?
There is not a chance theese movies will be good.

No - this is so wrong to all of the fans of D&D.

And btw how long do we have to wait to see the Dragonlance Cronicles made into film ?

Bahahaha! Sure, I'll watch it - but damned if I'll see it at the cinema. I might see it on a plane or something...

The D&D Waltz. Really. I danced it with a friend once and it was great.

Actually, I didn't think the first one was THAT bad. Sure it was bad generally, but still watchable enough for a D&D fan.

Well, I think what most people found bad about it, is that it gave a feeling it was aimed at a kids audience, while actually d&d fans are not kids mostly (and yes, that means in this instance I don't qualify teens as kids).

The first one isn't all that bad...

    Are you freakin kidding me!!
That movie was so embarrasing :(
I have never seen a more banal cast of wooden sleepwalkers on screen. Revenge of the killer tomatoes had better acting.

Please let it never be released on screens here.

The first was bad, sure, but I have seen it more than thrice, and that is without being held hostage and tortured. I don't fear that they will make two more movies, y'now, they might be good, but what I fear is the rumor that Paris Hilton will be in the second.

All we know is that the sequel can't be any worse. Did anyone know what universe Dungeons and Dragons was based in?
