Here are today's Dungeons & Dragons Online forum highlights, collected from Dungeons & Dragons Online forums. Will there be a day night cycle..also mount inquiry

Yes, there will be day and night cycles in DDO.

As for mounts, they're currently not on the table for release. As others have pointed out, controllable mounts don't really fit into our game design. When you have large expanses of wide-open landscape to travel over, mounts might reduce your travel time from 15 minutes to 5 minutes. Since part of our design philosophy is that you shouldn't have to spend any time running (or riding) across a seemingly-endless landscape, mounts won't really be necessary.

Now, this isn't to say that when you travel from point A to point B on the world map, you'll always be doing it on foot -- it's just that, much like in a PnP D&D campaign, the uneventful parts of your journey will be done in the abstract.

    Uncommon Domains

    Hi Slipknot,

I think you'll have plenty of options in Eberron to get away from the standard cleric (what's standard -- Healing and Protection domains?)

Here are a few ideas, off of the top of my head (please note that I'm talking about PnP D&D here, not DDO):

    • Elven clerics of the Undying Court have a new domain called the Deathless domain; the deathless are a kind of positive-energy undead who maintain their own free will.
    • Followers of the god Onatar have access to the new Artifice domain. This could be an interesting god and domain for a warforged cleric.
    • The Church of the Silver Flame has a new domain called Exorcism, which allows you to exorcise spirits in a manner similar to turning undead.
    • The ascetic kalashtar follow a philosophy known as The Path of Light. Clerics of this order have access to the Meditation domain.
There are many other options -- I think most clerics are either healing-focused or war-focused, so almost any other domain would be pretty "non-standard."
