I saw that the game would feature the Duelist PrC, and wondered how they would implement it. Is it true that precise strike can work with two-weapon fighting? This would make a ranger-duelist a quite interesting multiclass, especially if the ranger has low wisdom and couldn't benefit much from the higher-order spells.

I'll let you know after Christmas when I get the game and start my Fighter / Rogue / Duellist character.

I've messed around with Duelists. They start out quite weak but become very good at high levels. Fighter/Monk/Duelist is my favorite as you add both Intelligence and Wisdom to AC. If you wield a single weapon you get Deflect Arrows from 2 levels of monk. At high levels basically nothing touches you. A Drow Ftr/Monk/Duelist is practically immune to magic, gets Evasion, Deflect Arrows, high AC and Parry skill so high you will never get hit.

The duelist gets this feat at level 10, so this isnt really a bonus of having a monk- the evasion and wisdom bonus to ac certainly stand though but the latter means a high wisdom score (spreading your points even more thinly). The rogue seems a more viable cross-class choice as it gives evasion and offers certain other perks - a bit more damage via sneak attack, use magical device, trapsense and tapping skills for when you want to get tricky. Personally, i'd be mighty interested in an X(ranger maybe?)\duelist\assassin.

So were those builds tried in the game or pen-and-paper games? As per the SRD a duelist can't do precise attack when attacking with a 2nd weapon, but if that is not implemented in NWN 2, TWF duelists can have a ball :D

No precise attacks while dual wielding.
