Duel-Class Yoshi?

    Has anyone else tried this? I decided to give it a try since I needed another fighter and with Minsc and Keldorn in my party (hate Anomen, especially after he sought revenge and now.....well you know). So I duel-classed Yoshi as a fighter, put 5 proficiency slots in Katana, armed him with Celestial Fury, and placed Ankeh Plate Mail on him (got Jan as thief/mage so don't need Yoshi to thief). He is rising fast as a fiter with lvl 7 already. Base THACO is 14 and reg THACO is 8, plus his AC is -5 which ain't bad for a new fiter.

    Any thoughts on this, or am I just wasting time and effort on a bad idea? With Yoshi having Celestial Fury (+3), Minsc having Lilarcor (+3), and Keldorn two handing the Flail of Ages (+3 and then some) and the Namarra (+2) they seem to make a damn good 3some when it comes to melee. I'm a conjurer mage, got Jaheira for Druid/fighter, and good ol' Jan for thief/mage (he is a great addition IMHO).

    Any better ideas on how to use all 3 +3 weapons (still in chpt 2 btw).

    Yoshimo is an excellent Fighter when dualed from a Thief.

    Enjoy him for all he's worth and don't bang your head too hard against the wall in the very near future.

    If it was anyone but Yoshi, it might be a good idea, but I think you may regret your decision later if you come to rely too heavily on him...

    If you really want to know why, search on this board to find out about Yoshi... Otherwise just wait for the greatest surprise if you weren't paying attention! :)

    I came across the fact that he dogs me later, but I don't know (or want to know at this point) when or how he does it.

    Question then....who else would you equip with Celestial Fury? I have traveled with both Cernd and Valgyer in other games(sorry bad spelling at work) but I can't remember if I can even get them to work with the Katana w/out punishing myself?????? Anyone remember or have a sugg?

    I think I had Valygar using it in the game I was playing. I really didn't notice much of a difference because come Spellhold, he just sat back with the rest of the party unless seriously needed.

    [​IMG] How's this for an idea? When you rescue Imoen, take her into the party, and give her the C*Fury. Whenever she gets another proficiency slot, stuff it into Katana. Then a tenser's transformation and a strength spell later, voila! Imoen can fight! Unless of course that dual-weild thingy comes back to haunt her and she can't put a slot in anything other than sticks and stones.

    Valygar is great for dual wielding katanas. He's not the best fighter in the game, but he's pretty good. (Unless you've got 2 or 3 other killing machines; then he might be wasted.) He can also rack up some pretty good magical resistances if you equip him with the right stuff. As someone mentioned before, he's got so many protections, I can barely see his portrait! :D

    I thought about dualclassing Yoshi to a fighter either, just when I entered the Spellhold the second time :D :D
    But this wasn´t necesary for I had a backback full of curses to cure illoaylity. His INT went down to 3 when for he carelessly read one of the scrolls. Actually he was standing around in the fight there, circled blue :D unable even to lift a hand :D :D
    I killed him anyway for I was still enraged for he killed my dear Vicinoa in the first game.
    This is almost as good a firing cloudkill from the fog of war, harharhar :D :D
