Dual Classing Error: Game Closing?

    Well ever since i lagitly dual classes my undead hunter into a theif, i make other games and i CANT dual class it quits out of the game with a windows beep. So did that dual classing my undead hunter (even though the game allowed it) do you think its possible i ruined something somewhere?

    Your paladins good reputation certainly!!! :D

    I guess some assumptions about classes may inadvertantly have been hardcoded.
    It is no sectret that BGII has featured a bug or two. Certainly nobody ever tested your case.

    True. Except that, in the sense of game paladins themselves are "already dualclassed" (fighter-cleric with all weapons), just like rangers (fighter-druid, with all weapons), but they have really poor spellcasting abilities - which doesn´t include their innate stuff and some other class benefits like the good rescue throwas for Paladins.
    Therefore sou shouldn´t be able to dualclass them at all :D Lucky you!

    Give you pal-thief the leather-armour made of human skin (20% ragic resistance + saving-throw boni) and the helm of Baldurea (+1 AC + saving-throw boni) and your char will be nearly immortal :D

    Well actually my paladin has a evil allignment... but still not the point (game also allowed that) anyway, i wanna make another game for a sklad, and i wanna dual him into a fighter asap, but every time i try the game closes. I can play the game fine as long as i dont dual anyone or anyting (even yoshimo). Ever since i dualed my pally this have been a problem.

    [​IMG] Your lawful-evil dc Pal-thief is an "impossible" creature. I fear your game is buggy in the dualclassing section. My mentioned "already dualclassed" classes are just as impossible to dualclass as it is to create an evil aligned Pally or a lawful good thief... That should explain my enthusiasm when I read about your char :)

    Do you have the patch installed? At least, if all other help fails: Store your savegames, chars, sounds, portraits (whatever) in a warm place, uninstall BG-2, reinstall it and then go for it again.

    actually ya know i just thought of that... i dualed the pally before i installed the patch, and now im having the error... Well guess its off to reinstalling...

    Painful step. I had to do it myself three times for I had to install fresh windows after installing/ uninstalling games frequently :(
    I just have a 24x CD and so it takes some time for a full-install, but that´s better than playing the DJ all the time ;)
