I've searched this forum to find methods of keeping my drow armour when coming up from the underdark, but haven't found much... except that it should be possible. I found a post about keeping close to the edges when coming up of the cave, and placing everything in inventory of the person closest to the exit... but that doesn't work for me. The second I get up from the cave, everything is dust, no matter whether I put it in the bag of holding, or paused and rearranged inventory, or left it in the cave and went down there to get it after talking to the elves, or whatever else. I've tried every possible aproach I think.

Please, does anybody know of a method that actually works? Drow armour really was the best, and even Imoen could wear it - so please help me resque it.

If You cant live without the armors Have You then tried To jump to another area that wont activate the destruction process. I mean Use the CLUAConsole and respawn at another map. When You are ready to depart from the underdark. Stockpile Your New armor and Jump back to the Underdark exit and complete the missions. Then go and pick up Your armor and never go back. Might workhttp://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/cheats.php

Another way to do it is to equip the armour on the character in Shadow Keeper then it won't disintegrate.

[IMG] And another thing is to make your own equipment with Infinity Engine Editor utility.

But why would you do it when there are cheat utils around?

I haven't installed ShadowKeeper or any other cheat engines, and don't want to either. I'm looking for a way to get around it in the game without resorting to "creating" items in cheat modes. If that can't be done, I'll have to live without drow equipment... but I'm still hoping perhaps anybody know a metod that can work within the restrictions and bugs of the game itself.

If you can get one of the npc's to leave the underdark and go somewhere in the city, (like Jaheria to the harpers hold), then when you go pick him/her up, he/she will still have the armor. I've also read somewhere that if you pause it the moment you get out, and throw it on the ground, it won't disintegrate. Then after talking to the elves, you go back, and form a kind of chain with your characters to an exit point, then pass it along all of them (keeping it paused), and then dropping it with the last char on the ground. Then regroup your party to travel, pause, pick up the armor, click to travel and unpause, that will let you keep it as well.

The first idea I've heard better things about, second one I've only read about, never seen anyone try it.

Put all the junk in the bag of holding, give the bag of holding to Jaheira (provided she doesn't already have the harper pin), then kick her out of the party. She'll be waiting in the docks like a good little druid with all your nifty cheatin' heart drow armor.

With the exception of the last sentence, I think I'm quoting this more or less verbatim from Dan Simpson's walkthrough.

[IMG] This one is completing The Dmag message: The second way works very well. I did it, and everything was fine. The only problem is that you will need to put everything in the ground and restard the strategy again when you will meet Drizz't D'ourden at the exit, and when you will come back after killing Bodhi.
