Hey I was thinking about soloing and wanted a good character that is capable of taking on dragons by him/herself and being able to defeat the mounds of undead. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

The F/M/T seems to be the most versatile character but you can also dual a kensai to a mage, lvl 9/x, and make an uber character - this is, however, if you don't have ToB installed... Multiclass is better then imo.

Some use Shapeshifters (but that's only if you have the mod installed), others Assassins - it's your choice but the F/M/T seems to be the most logical choice...

NB! Both Kensai/mage and F/M/T can use the Amulet of Power which should make all those nasty undead a walk in the park.

I took down Firkraag and that Shadow Dragon with my elven archer. I was just using the three Imp. Haste spells on the Ring of Gaxx, and then he pierced to death :)

There's lots of characters that can take down a dragon solo - fx a single class Kensai or a Cavalier - but they aren't really good for soloing, they simply aren't versatile enough imo.

I'm btw playing through the game wíth an elf F/M now with Minsc, Jaheira, Mazzy and Jan, Keldorn in my party and I plan on taking on Firkraag solo soon - just for fun. The others can sit back and watch...

I think any class can take out a dragon solo.
Tactics and items is all that counts. And level ofcourse. Just browse through all classes and take what looks fun.

How about a Ranger/Cleric dual? I'd suggest multi with ToB but oh well :( Anywayz, you've got the awesome anti-undead spells of the cleric and for the dragon you can either beat it to death with Flail of Ages and Crom or fire off a bunch of dooms then a finger of death. Plenty of ways to take out both of those cats. Plus you can do the rest of the game along with'em :)

Till today the easiest battle against Firkraag was with my Archer...really! It was so simple I tired of it and restarted the game. Then I played with a Sorcerer (again...I know)..easy enough too. Removing protections, conjuring baits for gain some time, then loering his resistance and saving throws...and the Grand Finalle...Finger of death or the just and simple Chromatic Orb. Your choice. Wanna a hard one though? Try it with a Bard. I died many times(I repeat..many many times) before kill him! It was a disaster!! ( and I had to cheat it too..heheheheheehehhe) :D

Silver Bear is right, the archer and sorcerer are the two easiest classes that I have found to take out dragons. I like the Berserker as well but the silver dragon was a pain with that dimension door and heal she does. In the end I cheated and did an agent smith on her ass and filled all multiplayer slots with copies of my charcter :D

I would also recommend the Inquisitor who can wear the amulet that Aran Linvail gives you. Then Your protected from undead and have anti - mage magic (dispel is good against dradons - stoneskin).

What kind of Bard was it?

Ah..Monks are really strong against Dragons too..actually, they are strong against everything that moves!!
