Here are today's Dragon Age forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    Time travel....Yes, time travel.....
Just as an aside, if you're interested in a game that actually does time travel convincingly and well, look for an independent game called "Continuum". Good stuff. I even googled up a website for it: http://www.aetherco.com/continuum/index.html

    Question for Bioware

Maybe one or the other might let us know what the ballpark figure for this is.
More than a few. Less than a lot.

    Darcy Pajak, Assistant Producer

    Lack of Area Builder

The need to build areas from scratch in 3dsmax kinda means we could start building areas for DA mods now, which is kindof cool. Of course, we would need to know a little more about polycounts, texturing methods, colours etc, but theoretically this is possible.

As soon as we figure this out we'll let you know. :)

    Question for Bioware
A couple times I caught myself playing a mock game of hockey on my desk with bits of paper and a few pens...

Personally, for my money - I'd have to go with the blue pen team. All around a much better team than that micropoint black pen team...

    Stanley Woo, Quality Assurance

    Internal Quality Assurance

With CP & Stan now blazing QA trails for Bio, what kind of skills and knowledge are desired? I imagine technical knowledge is required for Bug tests, and base twitch skills are desired for more rapid testing, but are there more specific qualities sought?
Technical knowledge isn't required, but it is helpful. In the four years I've been with the company, I've been able to pick up information about programming and how all the disparate elements of the game come together. Sure, we have people who are highly technically proficient. I'm not one of them. And twitch skills are even less necessary, since we don't make first-person shooters or reflex-dependent games.

My strength lies in design testing: evaluating and critiquing the story, plots, even the spelling and grammar. Heck, I've even filed bugs on style and how the voicing and text differ by a single letter!

The main qualities we look for are communication and passion. Communication is vital to our profession, as we need to make our bug reports readable and reproduceable for other departments. That's one reason we're all in the same room together. We talk an awful lot, and sometimes, it's about the game!

Passion for our products and games in general is also important. Most of the time, even during crunch, we enjoy what we do. I, for one, love the feeling of helping to create an immersive entertaining product that the whole world can experience and enjoy. The positive reviews and the community interaction are big motivators for me.
