Here are today's Dragon Age forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

Exactly. Bethesda has to make the same sort of decisions about what to trade off as we do, and while they may decide to trade off in different areas (their game has a different goal from ours, after all, which is fine... need all RPG's be the same? I don't think so) make no mistake: those trade offs will be made.

To believe otherwise is simply asking to be deceived.

    Religious Beliefs

Well, the idea of having more human, fallible gods may not fit with a judeo-christian idea of religion, but the Greeks, for example, don't seem to have had a problem with it.
I'm not saying that gods can't be human-like and seemingly fallible, but they do have to be larger than life (which the Greek gods all were). Remember that even though the Greeks had a pantheon (and a very lively one at that) their gods never actually came down and gave proof of their existence.

Their followers believed they did, so it ends up being the same thing to them, but this is a far cry from the FR method. There was a full mythology about their existence and about Olympus but it all needed to be taken on faith. The FR gods simply do exist and there is no arguing that, no room for disbelief or for mystery.

And that's the difference I'm talking about.

We want DA to run on a wide range of machines. I cannot say at this time what the max and min will be becuase the max hasn't been invented yet, and we haven't optimized the code enough to judge the min.

    a few suggestions

    Quote: 10. Scripting

A nice thing to see for in the scripting language would be arrays. If that isn't possible, at least structs that included other structs as elements would be nice [wasn't possible in NWN]. If you do that you could even extend them by allowing functions as elements to classes like in C++.
We're investigating a few possibilities. If/when we have anything firmed up, I'm sure we'll let you know. :)

    To BioWare
Adding that style of additional content is not impossible. If we were to add an open wilderness that people had to wander through for hours upon hours, that would be one way to increase our play time (if that was a method we were interested in... which, we are not).

However, I think that what we are referring to when we say "impossible" is actually adding story content, questing, NPC interaction, etc... basically what we're building for Dragon Age.

Increasing the scale of the game with that type of content up to 200+ hours is simply unrealistic.

If Oblivion comes out and it has 200+ hours of story driven content (not aimless wandering in the bushes), with many deep NPC's you can interact with, etc... feel free to come back and give me a big old "I told you so". :)
