Does anyone really know what time it is?

I don't know if time really matters, but I have noticed that the days/hours when I save doesn't match the days/hours on the compass in the lower left corner --- is this gonna screw up my game???

I don't think so. I BG, unlike BG2, most quests are not time related except the one in Baldur's Gate. I don't want to spoil anything. These that have done the quest will know what I am talking about. But I think that is the only one in the game and you do get a number of days. So relax, no real deadlines.

Time has no effect, except for quests where you're usually given a tenday to complete and a few instances where armor takes a fortnight or so to make. But not otherwise.
There was also something about the time keeping being bugged, but I don't really remember if it was for BG1 or BG2. One of the patches fixes it, now just to find out for which game. ;)

The time? Why, it's '2 minutes to midnight' of course. (If anyone here can actually understand what that is... ;)) Silly post, stupid, stupid but I couldn't resist. It's a great song. Tal, BTA punish me. I like a spanky now and then. Virtual spankies only...

Anyway, as for the original question, Taluntain has covered me. In a couple of occasions a party member will leave if you don't grant his wishes within a certain period of time and then there is that poison quest in the city of BG which I shouldn't talk about much :).
