[IMG] Whenever i set a trap and someone hostyle triggers it, i hear the sound of it being activated, but there is no line saying the trap dammaged him {when i trig a trap it always says what damage it does to me, in the same way as when i hit or get hit in combat}. The bastard usually also shows as "Uninjured" after triggering it.
So do traps only work one way, only on the party but not on its enemies? If so, then what's the point in trap kits, and in the "craft trap" and "set traps" skills?
    Arrrrrrrgh.

A trap will always be triggered by enemies when they step on it, but they will only take damage if they fail to save against the type of damage inflicted by the trap.

For instance, if a trap can be avoided by a reflex save, and the enemy's reflexes are high enough, they will completely avoid the damage inflicted by the trap. The higher your rogue's "set trap" ability, the more difficult it will be for enemies to save against your traps.

I never see the damage done to the enemy either, but you can tell if the enemy took damage or not by checking its "uninjured" or "barely injured" status thingy under its name. If its still uninjured, it probably made its safe. I am personally a fan of the sonic trap, because it requires a will save and stuns your enemy! Take that stupid bloated dire spider that always owns me!

Well, there's no line saying they succeeded or failed theyr save, nor is there a white writing in the main screen rising from theyr heads to indicate success or failure.
What do you think is a reasonable Set Trap skill to have, by the time you start chapter 3?

Traps definitely work because I have found them a very effective weapon in the hands of a good rogue. If only they didn't take up so much room in your inventory. If the enemy triggers the trap in your field of vision, you will usually see the visual effect (e.g. the flames engulfing the enemy for a fire trap).

Ah yes, that i actually do see, and hear, too {gotta love the sound a spike-trap makes}. So what's the minimum ranks in Set Traps you'd recommend having by the time you begins chapter 3?
