In level two of the dungeon when you first start the game, you come to a doorway after you clean out the deuregar slaves that takes you to a plane of air I guess and you get meet this Djini that will give you power back, if you free it by bringing it its flask.

So where do I find this flask?

Also I found this statue of an air elemental... what do I do with it?

The flask is with the Dryads. The statue allows you to open up the door where you found the djini.

The elemental statue opens the mysterious, locked door to the plane of air. You need to talk to the dryads first, then when you talk to the djinn, he'll mention asking the dryads whether they know where the flask is.

EDIT: If you feel up to a challenge, you can pickpocket the flask off the dryads. :D

The statue of the Air Elemental is the key which opens the door to the pocket dimension of air where you meet the genie. Thats its use.

When you talk to the Dryads at the east end of the map you get the flask in return for promising to help them.
@kuemper - Thats mean :nono:

Just start over. Irenicus's Dungeon doesn't take that long.

Is it really important to the whole game that I get this "power" from the djini?

No, it's not important in the overall scheme of things.

Well, you get XP and a sword, but that's about it. It's not an essential item (or even a great one if you consider the other over-powered weapons in the game). All I meant is that you can't go back into the dungeon after you leave, so if you really want to do the quest, you'd have to start over. No big deal, though.

^You could always KILL dryads but that is pretty evil you know...OH and you miss their quest to take their accorns to the fairy queen. BUT it can be an interesting battle with the FairyQueen herself regardless.

^AND it is not really worth it. If you want a GOOD (and funny) two-handed sword travel a little in some mysterious (and dirty) dark place right under a coronet of some sort....(NO real spoilers here :D )

If you're proficient in twohanded swords, it's a pretty good weapon for the dungeon. The XP from completing the quest is nice too.

I kill the Dryads sometimes. They have antidote potions, which is great, and you're releasing them from their torture (ok, this is kinda debatable).

If this is your first game (and I'd be willing to guess it is because you asked a question about the first dungeon), you may want to avoid the Icewind Gate mod. It's broken from what I've heard (i.e. the IWD2 engine can't do something things that the BG2 needs to do) so you have to cheat to get through some places. Just an FYI.

Its not my first game ever, but its roughly my first time attempting to play through the game.. but Ive played the part one dungeons twice... once with the BG2 engine, and once with the IWG2 engine... finally I gave up and restored my BG2 directory to the original state and put back my save files.

Couldnt you get the acorns from teh dryads and then kill them, so that they dont have to live in the dungeons anymore, since they will just be reborn at their new trees...

^You can try, it will be a rather neutral action and pointless. If you really want to help those cuties you must take their accorns to their queen in Windspear Hills. It is NOT hard at all, and you feel like you did something good...

Depends on your character. I like your idea of killing the dryads to free them. Evil but really classy!

You can kill them and then later use the Acorns to raise them. The antidote potions are needed (especially if you're soloing), and every bit of XP helps.

[IMG] ^If you do kill them, I think their queen can be hostile and attack you? I am not sure though. Never actually tried.
