Just wondering how exactly will difficulty level in the game takes effect. Is it done to the damage or attack bonus of the enemies?

[IMG] Yes, but it also effects the weapons in the game as well. You will find weapons that are exclusive to the HoF mode, that can't be found or bought in the lower difficulty settings!

My second time through in regular mode I switched from Normal to Insane difficulty. I did not think the damage went up all that much, until I started facing creatures like golems and some of the higher level enemies in Chapter 2 and beyond. Then it appeared that they were doing some wicked damage to my characters since my poor paladin was getting through most of the fights with like half her hit points. There did appear to be more enemies, like 3 orc shamans instead of 2 (on normal) in an area, but nothing that my characters could not handle.

One thing that did jump out with the difficulty switch was that traps seemed to do more damage. For example, outside the Ice Temple all the doors are trapped. My first time through-on normal-if I set off a trap my rogue only took like 1-12 points of damage. My second time through-on insane-he was taking like 12-24 points of damage form the icelance traps. Enemies also seemed to use better "tactics" when the difficulty was raised, for example outside the horde fortress I used my theif with improved invisibiltiy to take out the first drum. The darn orc shaman walked up to the next drum and started pounding on it with the goblin shaman.
