    I'm not 100% on D&D rules concerning what category certain opponents fall into. Which metal should I use for taking down a

    1). Succubus (and the likes)
    2). Zaxis (and the likes)
    3). Dryads (MoTB)
    4). Sprits in general (MotB)

    What bonuses does the metals actually give? Just damage bonus or bypassing protection or?..

    Succubuses and Zaxis and Quaggoth-Yeth are demons.

    Dryads are fey.

    If you mean spirits of the land, they are categorized as fey too.

    So it is cold iron you should use.

    Cold iron bypasses damage resistance of demons, fey and warlocks.

    Alchemical silver bypasses damage resistance of devils and lycanthropes.

    Adamantine bypasses Iron Golem's (constructs) damage resistance and mage's Stoneskin, but also gives a weapon +2 magic damage in bonus.

    Thus my two of my favourite weapons are:

    Devilslayer
    holy + ananarchic (anti-lawful) + silver

    Demonbane
    holy + axiomatic (anti-chaotic) + cold iron

    Handy to have around. I could have made good use for Devilslayer on my ex-boss #1 and for Demonbane on ex-boss #2.

    I hope you don't mean you ex-bosses in real life, Ragusa? :lol:

    Personally I like to get Disruption on weapons too, since there is a lot of undeads in the OC.

    Ah, thanks lads!

    I usually go with disruption, since Act III is more or less an undead free-for-all :)

    Cold Iron it is then!

    i prefer adamantine weapons, because they bypass golem DR and almost all spell protections

    when you are doing 100+ damage a hit, a DR of 10/cold iron doesn't really do you much good

    well maybe it's useful to those who use dual wielding characters

    And for those who want to decide their own 3 enchantments on their weapons... ?

    Yea, I don't use adamantine weapons since I want the three homemade enchants (+2 magic dmg isn't really much imo).

    And also, who said anything about 100+ dmg on a hit? My Warlock sure doesn't do that kind of amount of damage, and neither has any other char I've played, so that statement is kinda unnecessary. Most classes aren't uber-melee fighters. This was not intended as a powergaming thread (although I appriciate the comments).

    I also just like the sound and feeling of a cold iron katana.. mm..

    I think I'm gonna go with my favourite enchants on this one:

    * Cold iron
    * +5
    * +2D6 vs Evil
    * Weapon of Disruption

    Smells like victory indeed, my friend :)

    One caveat is that from my observation a weapon of disruption instantly slays undead if they fail their save, apparently :eek: without generating any xp :eek: I'd like to know if anyone can confirm that.

    I haven't experienced it. I did get my xp.

    But I have played with patches 1.03, 1.04 and 1.05.

    I've seen weird things reported with patch 1.06 and 1.10 including not getting xp for quests or kills sometimes.
