If like me you enjoyed playing the first Diablo game when it came out a long long time ago, you may be interested in one of the modules at the vault:

    http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=3713

I downloaded it yesterday and so far I had a great time. It has everything which made the original game so much fun (music, voicing, atmosphere) but NWN style!
It's even better than the original game because you don't have to click all the time like a frenzied computer geek.

Anyway I thought I'd tell you about that Mod, one of the best I've tried so far (with the Hexcoda).
If you liked the original Diablo you should enjoy this module a lot!

Just downloaded yesterday and I'm quite happy so far. Being able to get +1 weapons at the very beginning feels weird, but this is Diablo, after all. :D

    The two-handed falchion looks wicked.

That's the coolest thing I've ever seen! Nothing quite beats the atmosphere when you first set foot on Tristram and are about to enter the cathedral.

The sudden spawning of monsters is a bit annoying, but one gets used to it.

Never got to play Diablo, but I'm planning on getting a friend to loan it to me. NWN style could be interesting, but I do have one question. Are the rules set up Diablo or NWN style? Also, how different is it from the original game?

The rules are NWN's of course. It's the NWN system (great for the many options, class, feats, etc.) with the atmosphere (music, characters, quests and background) of the first Diablo game (with minor changes as well).

It's worth a try if you liked the original Diablo game (hack and slash).

If what you're looking for is true RPing this isn't a module you're going to like.

What I like about it is the feeling of playing the original Diablo game without the necessity to click like a mad computer geek (clicking every time your character srikes a foe is tiresome).

Playing NWN opens up many options whereas in the original game there wasn't too much diversity as far as character building was concerned (it got better with Diablo 2 but the clicking was just insane).

Thanks Caradhras. I'll definitely consider picking it up; just as soon as I re-install NWN.

My only question is if the mod encompasses the entire game, in which case I might give it a try. Also couldn't you hold the mouse down in Diablo rather than clicking for each attack (or is that just Diablo 2).

Tell me about it, I could bend coins with my index finger after months of playing Diablo 1...

In this case, you use the same strategy as in NWN. You click once on an opponent, and your character will keep at it until you change the target, or do some other action.

Same to me. I get this message:
"Could not load Module. Missing required custom talk table".
I have Diamond edition (both expansions included), patched to 1.68 and CEPv2; I got every file downloaded and I put them where they should be, checked, double checked and there are not other file to download. I posted about this in the link buy I have no answer yet, and some people have the same error but they didn't got any workaround to fix it.
