I noticed that all races with level adjustments, other than the Deep Gnome, (Aasimar, Drow) has a starting XP of 1,000 fewer than what is required to reach level 2. For example, Aasimars have an LA of +1, so they start off with 2,000 XP and need 3,000 XP to reach level 2. Drow has an LA of +2 and start off with 5,000 XP which is 1000 short of 6000 for level 2.

The Deep Gnome has an LA of +3 and has a starting XP of only 5,000. This makes them 5,000 XP short of level 2. Is this just an oversight on the developers or is this intentional? It would seem that Deep Gnomes should start off with 9,000 XP instead.

I'm thinking of using the cheat to bump up the starting XP to 9,000. Having to wait to go from 5,000 to 10,000 XP to get to level 2 is a long time. In fact, he doesn't become really useful until level 3 (15,000 XP) when I finally can give him weapon finesse. That's quite a long time to be nothing but a meat shield (although a pretty good one). At the beginning, 4,000 XP is a big difference, although the difference diminishes over time.

The Wediu Ease of Use mod or the Gibberlings 3 Tweak Pack fixes this (among other bugs).
