Deck of many things random effect

    I always don't get the bonus I want with the Deck of many things. For example, I read in a faq that after a certain number of drawing the cards, the next draw may give you either +1 to your primary attribute, or this or that. But no matter how much I try, I will always get this or that but not the +1 to your primary attribute. Has it got to do with the user's int or wis or just pure luck?

    To get certain favorable draws from the Deck, you have to first take a bad draw from the Deck beforehand.

    The programming in TofB is very specific on what counts as a bad draw. The first time you draw a card, I believe the bad draws are Donjon, Eryines, and Ruin cards. After that, the choicer good draws become available.

    Which faq did you refer to btw? I would be surprised if it didn't address that point.

    It is the "Deck of Many Things (ToB) Walkthrough" found in SP actually. I believe it tells me everything except for what you told me....

    Hmmm...that's odd. When I was looking through the deck's item file and .eff files, I saw nothing that would suggest that the draws would differ because of abilities...though I could have missed something. I will have to look into this further, but it'll have to wait for a while since my computer is still on the recovery. :rolling:

    If by abilities you mean things like Intelligence or Wisdom, then no, the drawing of the cards has nothing to do with such.

    What cards you get has everything to do with which card(s) have previously been drawn.

    To my knowledge, Setsuna Mei'Oh is the true pioneer for how the Deck works.

    I am still curious about 1 thing: for the 2nd draw(after the first draw is a bad one), there is a chance to draw the star which give +1 to primary stat right? So my question is, is it permanent?

    IIRC, to get the choice draws on the last card, you have to draw a bad card on either the first or second draw. However, I think the better rewards are on the second draw than the first, so you're probably best off taking the bad draw on the first one.
