Dead golem in the way

I finally got to the part when I could confront the "Caged Fury"...I moved the mirror so it was pointing west and there's a dead crystal or ice golem in the way of the path the lightning bolt should be taking. I'm stuck! What do I do now? Thanks!

 

Hmmm... Never heard of this before. Try this... rest your party. Perhaps even hike back to Oswald Fiddlebender and rest a bit. Dead bodies tend to disappear after a while, and if it does in this case, it should solve your problem.

 

golem gone...THANKS! but still not working

Now when I fire the bolt north, it doesn't even appear to get as far as the mirror I turned. It IS the "EMBRACE THE SHADOW" etched door I am trying to get into, right? That's the only area I haven't been able to get into. Thanks!

 

That's strange. Hmmm....

Are you inside that room yet? I'm sort of assuming you are since you see the "embrace the shadow" message.

I've been stuck on that door before too. At a guess, he

thought firing the lightning bolt was the way to open the secret door, and the golem body was his best guess at why it doesn't work. After some frustration, he probably gave up and eventually he probably used the tapestry and the secret password to get inside the room, embraced the shadow and opened the door, THEN shot the bolt into the room.

That's my guess because it's what happened to me. The secret door is a bit of a wall-banger IMHO because the game encourages you to think of the lightning bolt generator as a door-unlocker.

Well, it IS the door unlocker here as well. The trick here is to realize that you need to open the previous door blocking the lightning bolt's path by doing something else first.

But yes, not very intuitive.
