I don't think I am using this ability correctly. Every time I use the Sunray, my character is engulfed in a pillar of light from above. However, I never see any damage being done to my enemies when the pillar of light appears. I have seen screenshots recently that show the character weilding daystar engulfed in flames when the ability is used, but this never happens for me. Do your enemies have to be right on top of you or do you have to be a particular alignment, class or race to make it work? Just what is the sunray ability supposed to do? Please, I don't know what the spell "Sunray" does either so don't respond saying it is the same as the spell. Thanks -JB

IIRC, it does 3-18 damage to creatures within a 20 foot radius. I think a save must be made to avoid blindness. It does WAY more damage to undead (something like 1D6 / level). I think undead also have to save to avoid outright destruction.

It does have a fairly small range on it, so make sure your opponents are close when you activate the ability.

Jim Babwe - you probably have the game, so if you bought it legitimately, you must have the handbook with you. If you got it burned, or borrowed the CD, the handbook should be on Adobe Acrobat reader. Either, you should be able to find the spell description of Sunray.

But then again, if you don't have Adobe Acrobat reader, then get. The handbook helps a lot.

C'Jakob - I purchased the game but didn't realize the manual had a complete spell listing. I will check it out for the Sunray description. Otherwise, I will wait for the bad guys to be right on top of me to use it.

There are two things you should remember when using Sunray:
It is active so long as your character is under that pillar of light.

    and
The light doesn`t affect your characters at all; in *any* way.

Thus, you can move around while the sunray is active. The second it goes off, start moving to increase it`s range...

[IMG] I dont get Daystar anymore as it is CHEESE for some reason it often does 2000+ damage to undead. Is this a glitch or not?

As you can probably guess, lich killing is very easy for me :D :D :D :D

If you read the Sunray description is says if the Undead fail a saving throw, they are destroyed. Thus the 2000+ damage.
