Are there any cursed weapons that are worth using ,in your opinion, regardless of the negative effects they have???

I'm liking this Soul Eater Axe from Fields of Slaughter. My dwarf is wielding that in his main hand and the flaming axe from the same location in his off hand. Deals alot of damage but also attacks his party at times.

DM, this is one of the problems that I have with D&D "cursed" weapons, at least as presented in the BG and IWD games. I don't like the idea of "cursed" weapons that won't let you put them down, because I find that that always prevents me from wanting to wield them in the first place and makes them pretty much a waste of a item file.

I'd prefer more subtle "curses" that you don't see coming. For example, in my Light of Selune mod, I created an item that has a subtle curse of sorts that the user of the item will not know about from the item description. When the user is struck, there is a small chance that the user will have his moral break and will want to run away. However, the item file is not tagged with a "Cursed" flag, and as such, it can be equipped and unequipped at will, except most likely when you are running around in panic mode.

There's that leather armor that reduces your CHA. It's definitely worth it.

I can't think of any weapons right away though, but that could be because I value versatility so much (many monsters are immune/highly resistant to certain types of damage, plus I enjoy switching between melee and missile weapons when I need to.

That's the Zuvembie (studded?) leather armor. The only real penalty to wearing it is the CHA penalty. And as long as your character isn't a talker or has some other reason to care about CHA, it's not much of a penalty or a curse.

Also, Klorox, I'm with you. I like switching between weapons, or at least being able to do so quickly, without having to worry about casting a remove curse spell.

I suppose that cursed weapons may be treated differently in 2e and/or 3e pnp, but in IE games, I find that truly cursed weapons only makes them undesirable to wield. And also, how many people ever use a magic item without identifying it? Not
many, I'd guess, except perhaps for the occasional newbie.
