Do any of you know of an idiot proof, inexpensive program that allows you to crop pictures into circles? xxx

 

I don't know of any that have that feature built in to the crop menu....but what you could do is crop it down to the right size, then using the selection tool, select the area you want and cut it out of the picture. Then you just delete everything else, and then paste your circular selection on a transparent background. I do that sort of thing in Photoshop all the time…but IIRC, Gimp can do the same thing, and it’s free.

But that's the hard way of doing it.

Then no, there isn't an idiot proof way.

Cropping in most programs is pretty much rectangular or nothing. Other shapes require a work around and usually some practice with a graphical program.

I reccomend downloading GIMP and having a look at the features, you may be able to find some tutorials to demonstrate different features and figure out how to crop in a way that's easy for you to do. Sometimes figuring out techniques can be quicker than being shown, especially in graphics programs where quite often it's playing around until something looks right.
