During the loading screens you are told that there is a dwarf named cromwell somewhere in the game.

Is he worth a wisit, and if so -where does he hide?

I have a bow without a string. Maybe he can do something about that...

I also have a blue gem which doesn´t seem to have a purpose so far!

    Any help would be useful

Cromwell lives in the dock district, in the est part of it to be exact. If I remember correctly you have to use stairs to get to his house...

Cromwell is absolutely worth the visit. He can make many different items for you, you only have to find the parts.

You are correct about the pommel jewel and the bow without string.

From the jewel he can make a long sword (the equalizer, I think), you need the blade though...
And you have to find the string for the bow before he can finish the bow.

He also makes very nice armors from dragon scales and Ankheg shells.

The gems part of the Equaliser sword, you also need the hilt and blade before Cromwell will make it. You also need the bow string too.
Cromwell is in the docks area, east of Maever's guildhouse.

If you have dragon scales (I had red and shadow) he can make some very nice armor too.

The Red Dragon scale makes nice set of armor that has a base -1 AC and does not count as " full plate +2". Hence, you can wear rings of protection with it on! It also gives +50% fire resistance. Its the best armor in the game.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to go back to windspear hills and have another go at Firkragg, I had a fight against a greater wolfware in the tombs, I foresaw a long batte because it regenerated, so I just went.
