Collection for the New Boards

    [​IMG] After sticking with the first version of UBB I got my hands on and modding and hacking it to bits and pieces, this activity now has to cease. Not because I want to, but because one of the most widely used mods - the Private Messages - is not functioning properly for many people, and I have abandoned hope of getting it fixed because I can't even locate the problem, since it works fine for me. Aside from this, there are many new improvements in the latest version of UBB (like integrated PM, Who's Online, polls, better searching, better admin panel and so on) that are there by default and don't need to be added on like we did with these boards.

    The catch is, my licence has expired and the latest version of UBB costs $200. I can't afford it since all the money that comes in is used just for covering the regular expenses connected with SP, and this would be an special expense. For this reason I have set up a (PayPal link now removed) that will collect the money for the boards ONLY. This will be separated from everything else, so when (if?) we manage to raise $200, the link will be removed and I'll buy the latest version of the boards and install it. I will keep updating this post so you can see how much money this dedicated collection has brought in to date.

    Our Goal: $200
    Currently: $213!

    As a side note, everyone who donated for this cause can also select an avatar/portrait for him/herself, of course. Thanks.

    What can I say, I'm amazed... In a single day enough people donated to the cause that I can pay for the licence, and even have some extra for the renewal of the licence (after a year). You folks are the best!

    I've just checked and the latest version of UBB with some nice improvements is currently in the second week of beta testing, and since I want that one I'll wait till it goes out of the beta status and then buy & install it. Again, thanks to all of you who made this possible! :)
