I saw a pile of books in the bookstore. It appeared to be 'Abarat' by Clive Barker. The cover and illustrations seem interesting. But that's not what a good book is all about.

Have any of you read this book and perhaps its sequal 'Abarat: Days of Magic, Nights of War'?
If so, what do you think of it?

My friend says it is really good. As it's a children's book, expect it to a bit more toned-down than his other novels. I'm going to get it soon.

I have read it and really enjoyed it. At least the first one. The second isn't yet at the library. I have good hopes for the continuation of the series (as this is clearly the first book of one) and it seems to have a good potential.

The site makes it seem interesting. I think I'll have to check it out.
