Cleric romance?

I have a question here. I've started a Cleric character (Priest of Talos), but it seems that the romances are not working with this class. I had Jaheira in my group(already dropped) and now I have Viconia. But as I see, they won't start any conversation with the protagonist at all. I'm not that surprised, at least I am a cleric.. So is it as I think? Cleric = no romance?

And what if I dual the character later? Will that change this fact? What do you think?

Whats your Charisma score? If its really low it might take longer. The Jaheira romance doesn't start until the start of chapter 2!

 

Romances also depend on race, but if you're talking about dual-classing I guess that makes you human. You'll have to wait for some time to pass with the romance interest in your party before the love-talks begin.

 

1. Romances does not depend on your stats nor alignment nor class. They depend on RACE.

2. These are racial issues:
- Dwarves and Halforcs can’t get any romance
- Humans, Halfelves and Halflings can romance anyone of the four romancing NPCs depending on gender.
- Male Elves can’t romance Viconia.
- Male Gnomes can romance Aerie ONLY. Female Gnomes can’t romance Anomen.

3. Jaheira romance starts when you join Shadow Thieves. You can delay the start if you don't accept Gaelan Bayle's first proposal, but eventually when you get back to him and pay him the fee, romance will start.

4. Aerie romance starts when you lead her outside the circus tent.

5. Viconia and Anomen romances start the very moment you get them in the party.

6. Occuring of romance dialogs depend on REAL TIME you spend in front of SoA - resting won't help. Also they depend on area you're currently on - it MUSTN'T be dungeon.

7. There are more specific details about every single romancing NPC, but for those wait till Tal places new Romancing Guide available to download.

As I told earlier, my new character is a P. of Talos. I'm playing the game with this character more than 20 hour ago, or so I guess. I finished many quests in Athkatla, my party is around 10-11 level. Jaheira was in the group, but I dropped her at the moment we fled Jon's dungeon. I picked up Viconia shortly after, maybe one hour later. But the conversation won't start, I do not know why. I tried to drop her out, then pick her up again, but still nothing.
I even tried Shadowkeeper to check at the romance, it says VICONIAROMANCEACTIVE: 1. Now I really don't know, what could be done.

Any help?

Ok, you're new here.

Use the console and with it find out these values:
CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("ViconiaMatch","GLOBAL")
CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("LoveTalk","LOCALS")

Secong command must be issued while mouse pointer is above Viconia – click on her and don't move the mouse.

If you are not familiar with this, then zip your saved game and mail it to me. But be warned - although I do have ToB, I haven't installed it yet. So if you installed it, the problem might be in ToB.

 

Right, as you wish, I won't mention it again, if it makes any sense to you.
I will check on the things you suggested, but I still have a bad feeling about this, I think ToB will be the cause.
I will send you the save file, if nothing else works.

You needed more patience, TGM. Nine'll get you ten what killed the romance was panicking and dropping Viconia from the party then adding her again to "see if it helped". If you dump a love interest from the party, their romance is ended (with the exception of some buggy stuff involving Jaheira).

Can anyone tell me you can't romance Viconia if you're a male Elf?

 

Look at Extremist's post above. I don't think that surface elves and drow get along very well. Just a hunch.

 

I agree i would certainly hurry away from Viconia, of many reasons; for one she is blue, second she has pointy ears, third she is a bitch (cant see it though) and last she is UGLY!!

 

I happen to think pointy ears are nice!! Please tell me you're not like that elf hater in Waukeen's promenade (Belmin Gelgas?). Her being blue is not a valid reason, and her being ugly is not true. And, finally, she is only a bitch until you get to know her. She just has helluva lot of issues.

 

To Firestorm:

Noone said you should like Viccy. If you don't like her, choose Aerie or Jaheira instead.

But imagine this: in a non-patched game ONLY romance with Viccy does not contain serious bugs. So I ask you, which one of these three kitties Bioware liked the most?

 

Extremist, I knew Jaheira's romance was bugged, but where are the bugs in Aerie's? I've completed that, and I didn't see any problems with it (though I might have picked up the fixes for that unwittingly). Still to try Viconia's - that'll have to wait until I go with an evil party.

(I've read the romance guide, very impressive . I'll probably have a few questions later).

 

No, i dont mind pointy ears at all, i (almost) always play at least partly elf. I was talking from a human-from-our-time-and-world point of view. And Extremist, You are right, but i dont like any of the other ones either... But i just dont understand why people think Viconia is so pretty.
