By chance, have some of you had a non-tempus cleric with cleave? I'm starting that human morninglord and have two feats to allocate. Seems from the spell list that penetration, evocation focus and spirit of flame will be useful only later, isn't it a good idea to take power attack and cleave? He's 14 STR 14 CON. He is supposed to be the primary healer and secondary bombardier after the sorcerer. The dwarven tank will definitely start with PA & cleave and the other melee warrior, the paladin, is aasimar, so he's not going to until later in game. The rogue(x)barb(1)ranger(1) with finesse and dex 18 or 20 is probably going to get that later since rogue feats below 10th level are practically useless. Any thoughts?

The cleave would come in handy only a couple of times. Your cleric shouldn't be surrounded by enemies; if he is, you should be trying a "turn undead" or a "slay living" instead.

You're better off spending those feats elsewhere.

Thanks, I will. So that's done. One char more ready. I've been creating the team for 8 days now. What about Aasimar paladin who only gets one feat at lev 1. Should it be power attack and then cleave? That fiendslayer, heretic's bane etc seem useless, casting/shooting related is no good for him, only buffing up saves, getting strogback, improved critical etc seems an alternative, so? I suppose after level 3 reached with ecl+1 there will be significantly less uses for cleave...

    Personally, I like dash.

There are people who tell you if you are managing your people's positions correctly, that dash will never be a factor.

And yet, there are MANY times through the game where you are thrown into a battle, right when you walk onscreen. And having that dash loaded gets your frontline AND your rear line people moving about where they can lead enemies away from the main assault and get some range to cast spells.

I definately call dash a good feat, for everyone but a monk.

Power attack is mainly for really low level enemies. Cleave is useful for all of chapter 1, when the enemies are low enough that you will actually hit on the rebound.

If his strength is high (higher than his dexterity), think about giving him an extra point in one of the two handed weapons. It will come in more than slightly useful as soon as you find a +1 two handed weapon to wield.

He's to be the bearer of HA ;) I'd rather take two-weapon fighting for him in advance (until his BAB allows -4 offhand without crippling the hand or breaking the weapon ;) ) BTW, I'll be finally creating him in a while.

[IMG] If your having trouble trying allocate Feats, or are just really picky, try boosting your paly's (or fighter's) Intellegence. This may seem like an odd idea, and it is to be honest. But i got bored enough to make a fighter with 15int, and the higher the int, they seem to get more skill points, and more feats.. Just a thought..

No, feats come every three levels + 1/5 wizard levels and 1/2 fighter levels. Human and strongheart halfling races and fighter class get one bonus feat at 1st level. That's all you can get. Int gets you skill points. My paladin has 16. 15 is between bonus +2 and +3 and is no prerequisite for anything in character's development, so either 14 or 16 should be taken unless for roleplaying reasons.

*Did mainly for RP Reasons* But then again, i think i have a Few .. Extra Files on that game.. Can't remember.. i add on, and take away mods kinda Frequently.. I think one of them made skills and feats both increase with higher Int..

That could be nice only if it were in 3E rules rather than an unofficial add/on to a d&d-based game.
