I have been looking for some cute Christmas sites for my nieces and nephew and ran across this one.

Oblivion has been my game for awhile now. It’s good, but lately have been missing party based play.

Both thoughts collided in my head and caused me to dust off IWD2 and form a Christmas party based on the descriptions on the website.

In the spirit of the Holidays thought I’d share.
Please feel free to comment or add your own theme based characters or parties.


Santa Claus - Teifling, Wizard.
Str. Dex. Con. Int. Wis. Cha.

A perfect anomaly, his love of all things good in life belies his Teifling nature. He seeks to delight and enrich all he comes in contact with by using stealth and magic, bringing joy to all, himself included.
His marriage to the Aasimar Meri Christmas brought such joy to both that the land around them grew rich with the magic of their love.

Soon creatures of good will were drawn to them and the Christmas village was born. They soon discovered that by spreading the magic to those that had none, new wellsprings appeared in the land.
Santa and Meri along with Bushy Evergreen and Sugarplum Mary held a council with all the inhabitants, where it was decided what the best methods of spreading the magic would be.

Bushy proposed building a toy factory. The Elves, which have always loved creating things to delight themselves and others, leapt to into the air singing that they would be the Toy makers and no other.
Sugarplum Mary, to no ones surprise, had already created an assortment of cookies and candies. They looked and smelled so wonderful the council voted unanimously to take a break and sample them all.

With full bellies and smiling faces everyone watched as Wunorse Opensleigh unveiled a magic sleigh that could travel the world in one night.
The reindeer had been invited as a neighborly gesture. But upon seeing how beautiful the sleigh was, they began clicking their hooves and nuzzling the reins. Insisting this was a joyous task that only reindeer could appreciate.
Thus the human world was given the gift of the Holiday Spirit, to reside with them all year long, if they had the wisdom to hold it dear.




Meri Christmas – Aasimar, Cleric.
Str. Dex. Con. Int. Wis. Cha.

While her husband Santa Claus tends to all things technical at the village, Meri sees to the health and wellbeing of not only the inhabitants of the village, but the very land itself. Maintaining the warmth and bounty that allows the Christmas Village to flourish.


Sugarplum Mary – Aasimar, Bard.
Str. Dex. Con. Int. Wis. Cha.

Master of sweet treats and Christmas carols, she also assists Mrs. Claus in looking after the village.
Her magical confections and personality are welcome even in the coldest and darkest of realms.



Bushy Evergreen - Stoneheart Halfling, Rogue.
Str. Dex. Con. Int. Wis. Cha.

Santa’s right hand Halfling and inventor of the Magic Toy making machine.
Bushy keeps the factory humming merrily along.
His Holiday Spirit has led him to indulge in the nefarious practice of taking from the undeserving and giving to the unappreciated.
There is a rumor in the village that an Englishman liked the idea so much he adopted the practice.
Neither Santa or Meri approve of this, but Bushy’s heart is so generous even they smile and pretend not to notice.



Alabaster Snowball – Aasimar, Paladin.
Str. Dex. Con. Int. Wis. Cha.

Keeper of the Naughty and Nice list, Al is driven by order. He feels rewarding bad behavior is no gift at all, but actually hurts the recipient. He views the Christmas season as a time for both celebration and reflection.
His purpose is not to punish but to help people rededicate themselves to embracing the Christmas Spirit all year long.

Pepper Mintstik - Wild Elf, Ranger.
Str. Dex. Con. Int. Wis. Cha.

Guardian of the secret location of Christmas Village.
Her Wild Elf nature and knowledge of the lands surrounding the village make her the perfect guide to all invited guests.
She is also the scourge of the uninvited, driving them out with the aid of the wild animals that share her nature.

I thought for a moment that this post was in the wrong forum, until I read it. The characters aren't powergamed, but the stories sure are funny. Hack 'n slash Santa, what's next?

OK, here goes:
My theme is South Park, and my character's name is Hiugh Bastard.
He's a gray dwarven barbarian: 18STR, 18DEX, 20CON, 3INT, 14WIS, 1CHA
As many dwarves are named after their clan's preferred weapon, so Hiugh's clan is named for their rare skill in Bastard Swords, an oddity among the dwarves. Hiugh Bastard's exceptional skill allows him to dual-wield these large weapons.
The duergar race is often shunned and hated by the surfacers, Hiugh knows this all too well: Whenever a murder is committed, he knows he'll always get the blame. "Oh my god, you killed Kenny, Hiugh Bastard!"
You would almost feel sorry for him, seeing how he's treated. That is, if he wasn't terribly violent, chaotic evil, and built like a brick shthouse
Too bad he didn't cut it in my powergaming party, I do miss him.

Silvery – Since my nieces and nephew were born I have had to get in touch with my inner cuteness.
A dual wielding Easter Bunny Ranger is a must, just have to figure out how.
No bunny based races in DnD?

Hiugh Bastard is nice, South Park had a DnD episode.

I sometimes name my lead character “You Fat, Bald, Basta*d!” or something similar.
Get a kick out of seeing an NPC say:
“Thank you for saving our village “You Fat, Bald, Basta*d!”


Acrux – Good site, these people really put some time into this.

 

actually, your hack-'n-slash santa reminds me somewhat of Futurama's Santa Claws robot ("everybody's been NAUGHTY again this year. NAUGHTY!!!")

Just to stay on topic.

The party saved Icewind Dale just in time for Santa to deliver the presents on Christmas.
