With Xbox 360 controller, how does one backup the character, while still looking forward?

I wish to back away from the enemy while looking at him, allowing me to continue to use weapons as I back away.

    Thanks for your help.:p

You don't on consoles; you character turns arounds and runs; by moving the joypad you cancel the attack command.
