Finished the game last night finally. I was so bogged down from chapter 4 on...I lost interest in the game. Then suddenly as if out of nowhere the game came back to life. The end sequence is full of great dialogue and voice actors. Chapter 2 and Chapter 7 really make this game. I think the ultimate game is out there...when the designers stick to what make these chapters great. I hardly hear anyone say how great those other chapters are!!! What are your opinions?

sorry I double posted but my computer screwed up...

Chapters 4,5 and 7 are my favorite. Spellhold is great but over too soon. Underdark is good too. And so is Suldanessalar. Chapters 2,3, and 6 are chapters where you can stray from the linear plot and do sidequests.

I guess I finished all the sidequests in Chapter 2...so the game really seemed linear after that.

My least favourite chapter is chapter 1... It makes starting a new game a real chore. Despte the evilness of Irenicus' "They act sooner than we had anticipated" the whole dungeon is just a waste of time. If it was possible to start the game just after in the Promenade it would be so much better, although I suppose the first chapter is a neccessity in terms of plot.

Yes, but there should be some way to skip it. It is a real pain, but it does give you a few magic weapons, and a few exp points to help you get your party ready for the game itself.

Think about all those people at Mplayer that like Chapter 1 so much, they play it over and over...

If you want to start a new game while skipping the intro chapter, you might be interested in the following site. He has save games of various party and character types that you can download. He also gives you the choice of loading them at the start, in the promenade or after you have assembled all the NPCs you want.

Basically you can do exactley what was requested in the earlier posts.

Hmm the first time i went through the game i did most of the quest in chapter two and after that it was very linear.
And i think the two empty forest regions are just frustrating there is nothing there why did they out them in the game?
But my favorite must be the spellhold maze because of its riddles and when you are there for the first time you are really confused

Ha! I loved those Spellhold riddles! Some of them were actually challenging. :) Not that I ever answered one wrong. But it was good to stretch my brain a bit. Had it not been for multi-choice answers...
