[IMG] I posted this here because it didn't seem to fit any other forum, move if in wrong forum.

I was thinking one day, or maybe more, that is there anyway possible to change the cache directory? ie. C:bad:...\...\BG2...\cache , would turn to -> D:bad:(...\...\BG2...\)cache , with or without the dirs inside ()?

    Thank you.

Why do you want to do this? The cache file is just a place for the game to store the last few areas you visited on your hard drive for quicker access. And what is D? A CD ROM drive, burner, or hard drive partition?

Well D is my another hard drive, and I want to link(or something similar) the cache dir to D because then I would be able to play better.

    So any help? Thank you

Unless you want to try to edit the program I think the cache directory must be in the expected location i.e. as a subdirectory of the main game directory. Thus, I rather expect that you will have to settle on having the game run off of C or D but not both at the same time.

P.S. Why exactly do you think that having the cache run on a seperate drive will make the game run better?

I'm guessing that the cache dir path cannot be changed, it's considered to be inside HD0 location in baldur.ini... Which means you'd have to move the whole install dir along with it to move the cache dir.

Because the cache size what I'm using (250mb) is too little atleast that's what I think with my intelligense(sp?).

If you are running low on space on your C drive I would suggest reinstalling the entire game onto D and then copying over your saved game files. That would be much easier than trying to find some way to have the game run off of both hard drives.

I'm sure you can delete something you don't need that much.
Did you do the full install? That's really not neccesary, you could just do a normal install, and then have a larger cache....

or just move something to clear some space on c to the d drive im sure you have something small enough to fit.

But doesn't it say that loadings time will be much more faster if you do the full install? Or is it just marginally faster? Doesn't matter?

Yes loading times will be faster if you do the full install, how much so depends on a number of factors of which the read speed of the CD Rom drive being of the most significance. Of course, the main benefit of the full install (at least in my opinion) is not having to repeatedly change disks.
