    Can anyone tell me if there are any Boots of Speed on BG1? And where I might get them from?

    Also, a throwing axe that returns like in BG2? Is there one of them?

    Plus, any melodic chain-type armour, so that I can cast spells and wear armour whilst being an F/M/T?

    Cheers

    1) Cloakwood (Chpt.4) - the group just outside the mines

    2) Underneath Candlekeep (Chpt.6) - the group in the cavern

    3) Sorry, no. You'll have to go with Bracers of AC as a bard, or a Robe of the [Alignment] Archmagi from Thalantyr if you're a mage-variant.

    If you are of an evil alignment, the robe of the evil archmagi is on the cold dead body of Daveorn on the last level of the cloakwood mines.

    Afaik there is also one a mage at lvl 2 or 3 of the Cloakwood Mines who has one (it might be a a robe of neutral archmagi though).

    Nah, Drizzt only ( :lol: ) packs Chain Mail +4, Defender +5 and Frostbrand +3... His speed is seemingly "natural", or (more likely) the programmers making him harder to kill, as dumb sword swingers are very easy to despose of, normally. As it is, you'll have to use some interesting "tactics" (read: exploits) to polish him off, especially solo.

    Well, I was bored so decided to start a BG1 solo that I can carry into BG2 (I've never solo'd properly before). I was tired of bears and wolves chasing me down and killing me, and me not having the speed to run away. So I SK'd myself some Boots of Speed, I wasn't waiting till Cloakwood! :lol:

    Killing that mage guy at the Friendly Arm was a pain...

    @olimikrig:
    With regular BG1 it's just an Adventurer's Robe / Mage Robe of [Element] Resistance kind of thing, but I don't know what they might have replaced with Tutu.

    EDIT: Ah yes, Hareishan (level 2 of the mines) wears the Adventurer's Robe (nearly useless), and Natasha (level 3 of the mines) carries the Traveler's Robe (also nearly useless).

    @grillen:
    Drizzt's are undroppable, so you probably won't find them.

    Hmm I was just so sure of it! Do not recal what she wore in tutu, but it was probably what you've written above :p

    I've always hated the idea of 'undroppable' items, it just seems ****** that we can't loot all the items enemies wear(Especially considering that Drizzt is way harder to kill than thoose punny folks at the Cloakwood mines :nolike: )

    Ok, why can't my F/M/T set traps? I have allocated points into the Set Traps skill, but my Special Abilities tab thing is greyed out. Por que? Do I have to be a certain level or something? Might it be something I am wearing/using?

    Ta.

    Do you have skill points in setting traps? If not that could be your problem.

    Barmy, I've hat the same prob when first using tutu. The problem resolved itself after I re-installed tutu, so I guess it's just a glitch there sometimes occur.

    Isn't 'Set Traps' under the special abilities button? I didn't see it highlighted on any of the screenshots. If it isn't there, I have no idea where it got put.

    Yeah, the special abilities button on the far right of the control panel... thingy. It's not available, you see? So I can't set traps and I haven't got the foggiest why.

    @Barmy:
    That looks like regular BG1, and setting traps wasn't implemented until BG2. You'll need Tutu if you really want to do that. The special ability button is probably grayed out because you don't have any yet. Try resting in every chapter from 2-7; you'll get a new one in each chapter. (It's random, so you may need to do it more than once, but make sure that you get the ability before you shift chapters! If you pass one by you won't get the higher ones, as there's a strict 1 per chapter rule, IIRC.)

    BTW, nice wallpaper. :D
