I see: newbies. And their first reply is "to use the search-engine, that's what it's there for" Come on guys/gals we need fresh blood. Yes tell them about the search-engine but tell them the answer TOO. You guys know the answers. Give them in a way that wasn't possible four+ months ago.

I see: the usual clash of RPGs/powergamers/cheaters (who even don't want to admit to themselves). That's ok but will this board survive with only that? Or will this turn into a society of navelcontemplating (it worked in my language ;)

I don't see: Has anyone done the whole game on the hardest setting? What was it like? Maybe this is where the RPGs and the powergamers join forces? Has anyone bothered to do it?

I don't see: Anyone talking about writing their own scripts. Is this board clinically free from programmers?

Yes, this is my first attempt to start a new topic. So I dare you, give it to me....

Newbies: Welcome, ignore the spats, feel free to post whatever you need.

Conflict: The conflict SHOULD be over now, with everyone respecting everyone elses rights and priveledges. The board's survival is not even in question...

Hardest: Not yet. I have a save in Ch. 4, but its so damned frustrating, and if it wasn't for the sheer challenge, it wouldn't be any fun.

Programming: I can code assembly so I can code just about anything. I just don't care to write scripts. I'd rather write mods for UT, or work on a program that I could put in my portfolio for college entry.

    (w00t! 100 posts, finally...)

Heh... I'd say programming in assembly is the easiest; perhaps not the easiest to get anything complicated done, but it's the most uncomplicated language :)

I program every day at work; the last thing I want to do when I get home to play is more programming! :)

...used the hardest setting from the start but several 'boss'monsters and other bigger ones are sheer impossible. It's not nice when a Golem can kill you with a single hit plus you won't get more XP. After days of frustrating battles (all doable but it took sooo long...) changed it back to core-rules.

..don't see where Java could be of much use here...
