Ok, my car desperately need a new sound system, so I was just wondering if any of the SP members here had a good car stereo system. And when I say "good" I mean a 500-watt amp powering a 12" subwoofer, and aftermarket speakers. If you do, give me some things to look out for.

What I want is a system that has Clarion ProAudio DX835MP receiver, with 2 Alpine 5 1/4" for the front, and 2 Alpine 6"X9" for the back, and a Kicker: Solo-Baric L7 15" Subwoofer.

Now, I'm a little confused on what kind of Amp I should get, but I either want a Profile Clarus series, or a Kicker series amp.

Any help would be welcome. :rolling:

I have a Pioneer deck. I don't feel the need to over compensate for other "short comings" with a super loud stereo.

It's great that you have learned to live with your other "short comings". Congratulations! :p

Is the interior of your car really so quiet that you'll be able to appreciate a high-fidelity sound system, or do you just want to be one of those hugely annoying a$$holes who makes other peoples' vehicles shake with their overamplified noise? Don't be rude and impose your listening preferences on an unsuspecting populace!

A subwoofer in your car is totally unnecessary! You can count on parts coming loose from the vibrations :(

Notice how I only want "one" subwoofer. And no, I won't be one of those punks that shake the whole neighborhood as I pass by. I just want something that can give me a nice little "thump". Oh, and Sorvo, I've never heard of parts comming loose because of vibrations... :rolling:

I had one Kitrax. It loosened all the nuts in my trunk  IIRC it was a 12" Kicker.

Well I have a Pioneer in my raging opel corsa

I installed it myself :being proud: probably why the radio isn't working how it should be ;)

@Sorvo: Oh...well my car is a Honda, which means it was built to last :D . My bro had a bandpass box with two 12" JL Audio subs when he had a Honda, and for the three years he had it, no bolts or screws ever came loose. :rolling:
