I have a problem, and it involves resurrection, raise dead or limited wish - none of these spells will work in restoring one of my characters back to life.

The situation was that I was completing the final battle against Bohdi, and one of my characters died. I have a troublesome computer, so I saved quickly so I wouldn't lose my progress, believing that I could just restore my character afterwards.

But now I can't restore my character, no matter how I try. I haven't been able to find much information on the internet. I tried a cheat, but that just restores his profile, and not his character.

Is there any way alternate way I can restore my character? I suppose I could just abandon the character, but I like having him in my party.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

Do you happen to recall how he died? There are certain ways an NPC can die and not be ressurrectable. IIRC, level drain might do it along with Finger of Death and Disintegrate spells. Also, the difficulty level you play will make some deaths permanent.

Finger of Death does not kill permanently in BG2, but disintegration and certain other things does. If you do not have the portrait of the NPC any longer, then the NPC suffered a massive damage:chunky death! And is gone for good! Level draining to negative levels also does the trick, as it means being turned into the sort of undead drained you, in PnP. Reload or mourn for your NPC!

Check this thread for more info about chunky deaths.

Hope this helps! Please accept my condolences for your poor NPC!

If it's the fight against Bodhi she would have taken the love interest NPC away before the battle...
