Your thac0 can be negative. As for the matter of AC below -10, I really don't remember. AC bonuses stack, so unless there's some overall theory of ultimate protagonist/monster fairness in BG (or a rule in AD&D I failed to notice), I see no reason why it shouldn't go below -10. If you can find the right equipment, that is...

Of course. A level 19 Fighter'll have a base THACO of 2 (without any weapon specialities and all), so just being proficient with a +3 weapon is enough to get his THACO under zero.

As for AC, 18 Dex (here we arrive at a clear flaw in the AD&D-rules : it should be impossible to show the same agility when you're wearing a Full Plate Armor as when wearing no armor at all. Luckily this has been changed in 3E) combined with the Red Dragon Scales Armor takes you already down to -5. Some sort of Tower Shield can make that -9. Then the Ring of Gaxx and voilà. You can enhance your AC even further by other magical trinkets of course.

Toying around using the excap remover I boosted a kansai up to 4.500.000 xp - he had a thaco of -25 with or without a weapon, I forgot. Never played that beast. Reinstalled my BG-2 without it. However, give an impression of things to come with throne of bhaal...

[IMG] You can easily get your ac under -10. I have a fighter with 19 dex cause hes an elf. I wear dragon armor, helm of balduran, cloak of protection+1,Ring of gaax. that might be all and my ac is -13. On a side note have your theif pickpocket Ribald from the adventurers mart in Waukeegen. He has the ring of regeneration it heals 1 or 2 hp (i think 1) hp every 6 seconds

Indeed, with my last party in the underdark, with drow Equipment 5 slots on Long Sword (Daystar and a +3 long sword) I had AC -14 and main hand Thaco -7 and off hand -4....

[IMG] Bah matey, they're no match for good ol' Korgan Bloodaxe!

Dressed in Firkraag's coat, the foul Demilich's ring at one hand and a Fire-protecting trinket at the other combined with a dirt-covered, smelly cloak, boots that grant him a cheetah's pace, an nice bracelet and a sturdy helmet that grant immunities to all kinds of evil tricks and a Tower Shield that blocks even the most nasty of attacks, Korgan Bloodaxe is nearly invincible! Not to mention his wide array of powerfully enchanted waraxes garantees a nearly 100% hit rate, even against the most wretched of Demons!

I laugh at thy pitiful excuses for warriors :D

Ragusa will like this one for sure.
I have a dc Swashbucler/Fighter (level 10/19) who with a Red Dragon Scale, Ring of Earth, Ring of Prot+2, Cloak of the Sewers, Helm of Balduran, Sentinel Shield has an AC of -17. His BASE THACO is 0 (zero) and THACO of -11 with the Crom.
THACO wise my best char was the dc Ranger/Cleric who with proper magics had -14 for main hand and -11 for off-hand.
