But he looks the same...

Okay, I was just playing along at the begining of the game when I identified the Girdle of Gender Bender so that I could sell it. Before I did, however, I wanted to have a little fun. So I began putting the girdle on various party members to see what they looked like when I put it on Kagain.

But he looked the same. I mean, I've never played either female or dwarf, but do both dwarf genders look the same. Seriously, he still had a beard. Or rather she had a beard.

Was this just a flaw or are female dwarves quite hirsute and rotund?

In most of the Forgotten Realms books, female dwarves look the same. Stumpet Rackclaw for example in the Drizzt books is a female dwarf and I remember a line about her scatching her beard. Or whenever Pwent see's Cattie-brie he tells her to grow a beard to be like the female dwarves.

Nearly all fantasy works have the same convention. Either female dwarves aren't seen much, or they are all over the place, but you dont know because they look like males. I think it was Tolkein who set the rule that female dawarves and male dwarves are similar looking, but I'm not too sure.

Yeah I think he mentioned something about Dwarven women having shorter beards then the men. Not quite sure though and that only a third of the population were females.

That is true. Tolkien did hav a line or two about Dwarven women. But they looked so much alike the male dwarves, so no outlander could see a real difference..
