Bug- player character stuck in Suldenessalar

Someone please help! I have finished SoA but when I was segued to Throne of Bhaal, my player character was left behind in Suldenessalar. My husband's already in the middle of ToB and says the messages she's getting (e.g. "click on one of the stone heads when you are ready for what comes") are supposed to be happening in the middle of a forest. But she's still in the temple talking to Ellesime. If I click on Ellesime I get the end movie and ToB intro again, but at the end of it all, my NPCs are in a forest and my character's still in the temple.

I really want to carry my party into ToB- I've had the same party almost since day 1 and I want to keep their experience and skill sets, not to mention their LOOT. Can anyone suggest anything? I have restarted several times and always the same effect.

 

The ToB Beta patch should fix this problem (although you will probably need to load a save previous to this problem for it to work). You can get the patch here: http://www.bioware.com/download/ToB_Beta_Patch_26464.exe

 

Beta patch worked for me. I lost Imoen that way before it.

 

Thanks very much for the advice, Wildfire and Seid! I loaded the patch and got it going again. Interestingly enough, I did *not* need to use an earlier save- thank goodness, because I was really not happy about the prospect of having to kill Irenicus again. So I tried using the first ToB autosave and managed to get going from there: in case anyone else has this problem, here's how I worked through it. Hope this will help someone else someday:

By clicking on Jaheira or one of the other party NPCs, I could flip back to the forest scene where my PC was supposed to be. So I just kept going with them as if my character were there, clicking on the stone heads to start the first ToB battle. Illasera appeared- not in the forest, but back in the Suldenessalar temple with Ellesime and my player character. Incidentally, this resulted in a very funny (to me, anyway) screen capture of Illasera, clearly indoors, saying "it was hard to track you to these woods". Anyway, since the rest of my party was in the woods where Illasera believed herself to be, my character had to kill Illasera and her henchmen solo, after which she and the rest of my party were reconciled exactly where they were supposed to be. Hurrah! And now, I'm off to enjoy my game...`

 

This just happened to my brother's game yesterday. I do need to get that patch but your right just fight Ilaserra in the Temple of Rillifane (completely oblivous to Ellesime and her elves and then when the battle is over, everyone in the party gets rounded up no matter where in Faerun they are ) and taken to your pocket plane. A little nerveracking at first, but once you figure out how to get by it quite funny for a bug.

Geez I need to wakeup!
