I seem to be running into quite a odd situation here. I am currently playing BG ToSC. I am currently on the Scar quest to investigate the seven suns. When I go up to the second floor the
main characer drops dead and Jahira complains we havent gone to Naskel, which we have. The only conclusion I can make is I didnt have the main char drink the antidote from the posion the asassin ...whats his name uses. Anyone have this problem ? Any solutions besides starting over ? Did I do somthing wrong or is it a bug ?

No, I don't think it's poison of the assassin ...

    — It is even not at all obvious that antidote IS useful, since you have a special message (with comment and x.pts) when you kill the second assassin in the Blushing Mermaid !

By the way, the game should have told you of repetitive nauseas, a lot of times before you potential "poisoned" death. Is it the case ? No, I guess ... :hmm:

    PERHAPS it's a bug ; perhaps no.
    • But a suddenly death in second floor of Seven Suns dont suggest anything to me.

What class of Player Character were you playing, Peanut Girl ? :)

Elven Fighter / Mage and no I got no message. I completed the poison quest to the full extent. What was weird is the second time I tried entering up stairs Jahira didnt complain about not going to Naskel my char just died. Somthing of importance I might want to add is that the screen doesnt show the usual " death" movie with the desentigrating hand. It just goes gray and doesnt do anything..I can still move the mouse and when I move it over the group the main character is just twitching. That was my main indication it might be a bug.

It's a bug, — you are not so blonde after all ! —

Well. I dont know informatical stuff very well, but I shall say you what I should do with my iMac if I was in YOUR place :

    1) Quit your game.
    2) Make a SAFE COPY of all your temporary folders ;
    3) ... then, void them fully ( folders "Cache", "temp", "tempsave", nay, perhaps even "Override" if a first try of all after is not sufficient).
    4) Re-start your computer.
    5) LOAD your last AUTO-SAVE of BG1. Make a Quick Save just hereafter !
    6) Play normally until you go to the Seven Suns ; for now, never do anymore Quick-Save (Q key on Apple, and probably on PC also).
    7) Don't try to go 2nd level Seven Suns, but go Level -1, in the basement, and play normally (doing so make the game perhaps do a new, perhaps "bad", Auto-Save, but your Quick-Save replace it for potential base-load of other tries !)
    8) When you have ended the basement and looted all, return to stairs and 1rst Level, THEN TRY AGAIN to go 2nd Level.
    9) If you don't die, all is well !
    10) Wait 2 weeks of REAL time, play normally, and if your don't have anymore problems, throw out your copies of "contaminated" folders of temporary saves ...
They will not be of any use now.

Sounds like your computer locked up. Try uninstalling and reinstalling.

[IMG] You don't really HAVE to know WHAT is "contaminated", but only to remove the (supposed) contaminated parts ...
[ After all, we are not professionals, but only users ].

    • Do what I said : EMPTY all "temporary" folders, and load a save ancient enough (Auto-save is only an example) to have NOT "in gestation" the stupid bug of which you suffer ... ;)
    • Then take a DIFFERENT PATH in your game, until you reach 2nd level of Seven Suns, as I suggest to you in my last message.
    • [ If all your tries fail, you always have the possibility to do what the woman in the text above (Kuemper) suggest : re-install all your game after an un-installation, but it is rather as taking a 50 pounds hammer to kill a mosquito ! ] :(

MY method has for advantage to be used in near-ANY problems you can meet in BG1 and/or Tales of the Sword Coast. If your computer says you (it is relatively current enough !) that "he don't find line XX XXX", then empty temporary folders, load an older save, and take a different path to your aim. :)

Also, I remember there is a house in Baldur's Gate City which has ALWAYS a bug when you try to enter it. The house is at East of Fair-Quarter. Make ALWAYS a quick-save before entering in any house in that zone, because I don't know if a patch has cured this bug (I dislike patches, in general I don't use them).

Well I am not computer Literate at all. I screwed up somthing so its back to the drawing board. I have to start the game over. All my stuff was gone......everything.....I had a fresh new empty save slot page. Thats ok really, even though I was almost finished with the game! I wasnt happy with the last main chars build anywyas and pondered starting over for it for a idea in BG2 when I import.

Well I managed to fix the problem.....I figured out through messing around that I still had the save folder. What I did was acciddently erase tha and not the temp folders. All that you gave me worked. Thank you both for your suggestions. I appreciate them.
