    Hi,

I'm at Wyrm's Tooth, ready to enter a cave in the northeast (I believe that will take me to chapter 6).

When I try to enter the cave, the game crashes with this error message:
I did a google search for that, but only found entries relating the problem,
    none providing a reasonable solution.

Has anybody ever faced that? What should I do?

    Thanks.

Do you have the official patch installed?

    That's one question I have.

I applied a patch (I don't know if it was the official - where can I get it?) after I got that error. Should I see something different after the patch? I didn't notice any change, not even in those version numbers on the bottom of the 'option' screen.

    Thanks

You can find the patches for IWD on this page. Be carefull to download the correct patch. As for installing a patch after getting a error, although i am not sure about it..i do not think that is going to work. You should always install the correct patch right after installing the game(And expansions if you have them.)itself.

    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD/index_misc.php

If i where you i would uninstall the game...then reinstall it and if you have them the expansions. After having installed the game(and maybe also HoW and ToTLM) install the correct patch.

*For IWD only: Official Icewind Dale Patch v1.06

*For IWD+HoW: Official Heart of Winter Patch v1.41

*For IWD+HoW+ToTLM: No need to install another patch then, Trial of the Luremaster also installs the patch v1.42.
